When: Monday, Sept. 23, 2002
Time: 5 to 7 p.m.
Where: Tortus Technologies
Address: 1686 Riverdale St. (Rt. 5), West Springfield, Ma.
Want to get to know the names behind the faces you've been seeing
at
earlier HIDDEN-TECH events? This event is designed to do just that.
You
should meet at least 20 people and even more during the course of
this
structured networking program. Here is how it will work:
The first half hour will be free form. Come in to the impressive
headquarters of Tortus Technologies, enjoy some food and schmooz
with
other attendees. You'll notice tables set up that cover the following
major market sectors represented by HIDDEN-TECH participants --
* PR/Marketing/Newsletters
* Content
* E-Commerce services/Retailers
* Hardware/Software Developers
* Web Design/Hosting
* Management Consulting/IT Training
Feel free to bring written materials, business cards, brochures
pamphlets, CD-Roms, books, etc . . . to leave on the table that
best
describes your main market area. Once everyone has gathered you
will be
asked to pick a table that represents your core market interest.
Facilitators will lead a discussion at that table for half and hour
where you and all participants will be able to identify yourselves
and
describe individual businesses. After that time, you will be asked
to
move to another table that interests you for another half-hour discussion.
Free-form networking will follow the structured sessions.
Come join tech entrepreneurs from throughout the Knowledge
Corridor to share ideas about business growth, marketing,
publicity and new product/service development. Anyone who
makes a living in the tech economy -- whether software
developers, dot.com dabblers, Web designers, tech writers
or entrepreneurs who use technology to boost their business
are welcome. So are economic planners, university and
government officials, and the merely curious.
Cost: $5 at the door for non-members; $2 for TEC members.
RSVP: Please pre-register at http://www.tecouncil.org/events-next-event2.jsp
to help us determine attendance. Formal registration will be at
the door. If
you have questions you can contact Amy Zuckerman, HIDDEN-TECH chairperson
at
amy@hidden-tec.net.
Directions: From the north take Rt. 91 south to exit 14 (the Mass.
Pike). It's the same exit if you're coming from the south. Go straight
on the access road and avoid the Pike entrance. Take Rt. 5 South
to West
Springfield (in the direction of Springfield Center). Tortus
Technologies is just about a quarter of a mile on the right-hand
side of
Rt. 5 in the Bare Furniture Building. Look for the door in front
of the
building on the front with the blue awning and Tortus Technologies
sign.
They're one flight up. Parking is available around back to the right.
Any questions, call: 413-788-5080.

ABOUT HIDDEN-TECH
HIDDEN-TECH is an affinity group within the Technology
Enterprise Council, also known as TEC (pronounced "tech").
This affinity group brings together the growing world of
small, sometimes home-based, sometimes office-based,
technology companies, which make up what's now known as
the hidden tech world. HIDDEN-TECH applies to any business
that is not easily identified, is purposely small, and
provides products or services that relate to the larger
tech economy.
