REDUCING STRESS TO BOOST YOUR PRODUCTIVITY
It's tax season, your kid is constantly sick and work is skyrocketing beyond your controlled. YOU ARE STRESSED OUT!
Here's a chance to take a deep breath and learn some mindfulness meditation skills that will help reduce the stress that leads to lousy business decisions, lousy relationships and can even take years off of your life.
David Spound, M.Ed, has offered to provide some techniques and information for handling the inevitable stresses that show up in our lives. David’s work is inspired by the “Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction” program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at UMass Medical School and will include material from the “Taste of Mindfulness” workshop that David is offering in Northampton on March 26 and April 30.
There will be networking from 5 to 6 p.m. and then the rest of the program is devoted to helping you de-stress.
David has created and led a wide range of educational programs for businesses and individuals. Having first learned meditation as a teenager, he began mindfulness practice while searching for relief from debilitating back pain. After experiencing significant benefits, he enrolled in teacher training for the “Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction” program at UMass Medical School. David is also a Hidden-Tech member with many years of experience as a Macintosh computer consultant and Web site developer.
DIRECTIONS: The Bangs Center is a modern building directly behind the buildings that house Bart's, Panda East and shops in Amherst. It's accessible through the new parking area that sits behind No. Pleasant Street and is accessible by Kellogg Streets or Main Street (right before Amherst Chinese). The Pole Room is on the lower level. Turn right at the bottom of the stairs and it is at the end of the hall. There will be signs.
