HIDDEN-TECH STAGING BERKSHIRES "MEET AND GREET" EVENT

LOCATION: Thaddeus Clapp House, Pittsfield (see directions)

TIME: 5 - 8 p.m.

COST: $5

Hidden-Tech, the business networking organization for virtual company
owners based in the Pioneer Valley, is scheduling its first Berkshire
meeting from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 26 at the Thaddeus Clapp House in
Pittsfield on Wendell Avenue. The price is $5 at the door.

The "Meet and Greet" is designed to introduce small, home or office-based
entrepreneurs to the resources and benefits of the
organization. Membership in Hidden-Tech is free. (see www.hidden-tech.net)
for more information.

Amy Zuckerman, Hidden-Tech founder and co-chair, will be available to
explain how Hidden-Tech's online resources and live events have helped
entrepreneurs of all stripes -- not just techies -- beat isolation and
build their businesses. An award-winning author and consultant, she is the
2005 recipient of the U.S. Small Business Administration's Home-Based
Business Champion award for Massachusetts and New England.

"I left New York City on 9/11 convinced that virtual company entrepreneurs
like myself needed a network so we could survive, and even thrive, in the
tough years to come. From that time we've grown to almost 1,000 members
throughout the Rt. 91 Knowledge Corridor, and beyond, who provide each
other assistance in every fashion from locating health insurance to
business leads," she explains.

"Hidden-Tech is not restricted to techies. Imagine what one can do in a
home or small office setting and there is a member doing it, from
architecture and law, to designing medical devices, writing plays or
animation. There seems to be no limit. What connects us is the fashion in
which we work and the fact that we all must use technology to drive our
companies," she adds.

Zuckerman says Hidden-Tech already has some Berkshire members, but would
like to attract far more to the group. "The more members, the more business
opportunity," she explains. "And the Berkshires are our neighbors in the
Pioneer Valley. It's a natural to expand the group to the west."

Adds Peter Bergman, one of Hidden-Tech's two Berkshire coordinators, "The
Berkshires has been undergoing a major change in the last decade, big
industrial businesses giving way to small, hidden, often home-based
organizations of one, two or five people. Mine is one, or two, of them. I
know how important technology and the ability to interface locally,
regionally, nationally and internationally has become to any sort of
success for us, and this is something that is being addressed, right now,
by Hidden-Tech. Having a greater fluidity within the region, developed by
membership and participation in Hidden-Tech, is going to really give me and
others like me a boost."

Susanna Opper, co-founder of BEN (Berkshire Entrepreneurs Network), has been
a member of Hidden-Tech since its inception. "Like BEN, Hidden-Tech is a
great resource for small and home-based businesses. I always enjoy their
events and find the on-line network a port in any storm. I'm delighted
Hidden-Tech is reaching out to the Berkshires," she says.
